More than a year after the first announcement, details have finally started to trickle out regarding the games based on George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire novels.

Titled “A Game of Thrones: Genesis,” the new game will be a strategy title with “numerous paths to success.” As with games like Civilization, it will be possible to take military, economic and diplomatic approaches while also being able to assassinate enemy officers, send spies across enemy lines and hold people for ransom.

The developer Cyanide is best-known for games like Pro Cycling Manager and Blood Bowl, making A Song of Ice and Fire something of a departure for the studio.
