Yes, folks, the new football season is almost upon us, which means the new version of Madden is almost upon us, which furthermore means the demo for the new version of Madden is just around the corner. EA Sports has announced the demo for Madden NFL 11 will be released on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Marketplace on July 27.

As previously revealed, the demo will feature the Indianapolis Colts vs. the New York Jets, a match-up voted for by fans earlier this year (surprisingly spurning last season’s Super Bowl champions, the New Orleans Saints). The demo will feature one five-minute quarter, and will let gamers play around with a few new features in the game, such as creating your own game plan using the Colts or Jets playbook, and using “GameFlow,” a new playcalling feature that automatically selects the best play for a given situation using your game plan. The demo will also allow players to unlock an exclusive “Master Strategist” achievement in the retail version of the game simply by creating a game plan in the demo.

Madden NFL 11 is due out on August 10.
